A friend and I went on our first hike together, one that I hadn’t done in years. We went with the main goal of taking photos but my secondary motive was just to talk. To get to know each other in the midst of silence and serenity. When I took this photo, we were both taking a minute to relax and enjoy the calm and quiet that Lindeman Lake so effortlessly offers. As I was shooting, the cloud in the top right floated in and I knew the shot was made. They added mystery, and a nice bit of depth, to the shot — a perfect illustration of the day.
A bunch of friends decided it was a good idea to do a hike in the early hours of the morning when it was still around mid-March, in the cold, wet rain, with half melting snow making our shoes soaking wet.
